How about something cosmic for Spring Break?
The Pacific Mineral Museum invites all to see a piece of the meteorite
that lit up the southern Yukon sky, January 18th, last year. Shortly
after, the meteorite exploded, showering Tagish Lake in northern BC with
fragments. The Tagish Lake meteorite, as it is now known, belongs
to a rare meteorite class: the carbonaceous chondrites, which are known
to contain organic molecules (some of which are not known on Earth), diamonds
and other unusual things. This special exhibit opens this month and will
only be here for a limited time. The museum is located at 848 West
Hastings Street. For information call 604-689-8700.
