Crash Crawly's Adventure Fun Centre - Coquiltam

Activity:

You know what really sucks about the winters in Vancouver are the rain and the snow.  I mean who wants to slide down a wet slide, or worse yet, hold onto a swing that’s so cold your hand sticks to it.  I remember once it was so cold I got my tongue stuck to a lamp post.  By the time I peeled it off my tongue was bleeding.  It was a stupid thing to do.  My friend Will dared me—I wouldn’t ‘ve done it otherwise.

Don’t you wish someone would build a playground indoors?  Wish no longer:  Crash Crawlys is your answer to indoor fun at the max.  It has everything you could imagine:  a trampoline, gigantic slides, nets, balls, tunnels, even a shooting pit where you can fire nerf balls at your friends.  Trust me, they don’t hurt.

Say you want to take a break from all the action; you can watch a movie on a big screen, or drive around in a mini jeep (if your Mom will fork out the extra money).  They even have a train that actually goes inside a dark tunnel.  You can buy food there too.  My Mom likes the pizza, because it has a whole wheat crust.  What a waste!  Oh yah, if you have a little sister or brother that always wants to do what you do, show them the mini playground built just for kids aged three and under.

I’ve saved the best for last:  laser tag.  You get to put on black and silver vests like the ones in Star Wars and shoot people with beams of light.  How cool is that?  And you get to run around in a dark room with corridors and hiding spots.  This is a lot of fun:  even my sister did it and she’s sixteen years old.

Here’s my advice to you:  if you get up one morning and see it’s cold and wet outside, do something that’ll make your Mom happy—like make up your bed.  Then ask her if she’ll take you to Crash Crawlys.  Tell her she can burn a lot of calories there.  It’s true:  parents get in free and they’re allowed to go wherever they want.  My Mom used to crawl around with me when my big brother took off on me.  She had fun, except when she got stuck on the skinny slides.  Mom would always say it wasn’t that her bum was too big, but that the slide was too small.

The only problem you might run into is that Crash Crawlys gets really busy on the weekends.  There are a lot of kids that make a lot of noise.  Mom even once brought some ear plugs, because she wanted to read her book.  Come to think of it, the best day to go would probably be when your school has a Professional Development Day.  Make sure you phone ahead, because sometimes they have private parties and you won’t be allowed to go in.  Tell your Mom the Entertainment Book has a coupon for Crash Crawlys in it.  (P.S. That’ll make her doubly happy).

Crash Crawlys is located in Coquitlam.  I bet you’re driven by it at least once.  It’s right by the Toys R Us you see just before you go over the Port Mann Bridge.  We live in North Vancouver, so it takes us about 40 minutes to get there.  I usually bring a book or do my homework along the way.  (P.P.S. That’ll make your Mom triply happy).

Age group:

I think all kids 12 and under like this place, but my sister and her friends even went when she was 16 years old.

I could spend all day at Crash Crawlys.

:

Last time we went there were some kids that were bullying me and my friends.  We told the supervisor, but they still continued.  Those kids were mean.  This only happened one time.
